Gujarat Titans, the 2022 champions of IPL, bottled their opening game against the Punjab Kings before making a strong comeback in the second encounter against the Mumbai Indians.

They will meet the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their first away IPL 2025 clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Gujarat Titans were in the chase against Punjab for an extended period before a few silent overs with the bat killed their entire momentum in the game.

However, against the Mumbai Indians, they held their nerve in the defense, while Prasidh Krishna’s hard length balls helped them so much in the game.

Openers- Shubman Gill (c) and Sai Sudharsan

The GT captain, Shubman Gill, has looked in very good touch during the new edition of the tournament. He gave them an aggressive start in the 240+ run chase against the Punjab Kings before repeating the same performance against the Mumbai Indians with 38 runs in just 27 balls at a strike rate of 140.74.

Sai Sudharsan has celebrated two successive half-centuries so far in the league for GT. He was not up to the task in the powerplay during the previous encounter, with 25 runs in just 21 balls, but clubbed a fine 63-run knock in just 41 balls at a strike rate of 153.66 against Mumbai.

The young pair aims to continue the same dominance to offer them a fine start with the bat in Bengaluru.

Middle order- Jos Buttler (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan

Jos Buttler has also been in decent touch in the tournament so far. In the previous contest, he drilled 39 runs in just 24 balls at a strike rate of 162.50. Many questioned the management’s decision to put the former England captain at number three, but they seemed to want someone experienced in the middle order.

Sherfane Rutherford has been the power hitter for GT so far. He did well in the game against PBKS but wasn’t able to get runs off the wide yorkers, and RCB will aim to bowl him in the same channel. Shahrukh Khan is another aggressive late-order batter, while Rahul Tewatia is also playing as a batter on the side.

The entire middle order hasn’t contributed much for GT, and they may find the RCB contest the best chance on a solid batting surface to turn the tables.

Rashid Khan, after two cold games, especially after bowling just two overs in the last game, will look to create an impression against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Bowlers: R Sai Kishore, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma (wk.)

Sai Kishore bowled beautifully against Punjab with three wickets. But it will be a new challenge for the left-arm spinner to tackle the power hitters of RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The pace bowling unit will have so much on their shoulders.

Kagiso Rabada will need to pick early wickets with the new ball, while Mohammed Siraj will have the responsibility to perform in a venue that he knows well. Ishant Sharma will also want to use his experience during the vital encounter. Prasidh Krishna will be eager to repeat the same sensational show at his home ground.
