The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have faced three successive brutal games in IPL 2025, where they have failed to chase down the score and lost the game from the jaws of victory. They are currently at the penultimate position in the points table with two wins in nine group-stage encounters at a net run rate of -0.625.

Rajasthan started the tournament with two defeats before earning two consecutive wins. But they lost track since then, with five successive defeats to get eliminated from the 2025 season of the competition.

RR will now face the Gujarat Titans (GT) next on April 28, 2025, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

IPL 2025: RR Playing XI vs GT- Match 47

Openers- Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the only bright spot for RR in the entire batting department. He smashed a first-ball six against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 206-run chase at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. But the southpaw failed to celebrate his fifty and was dismissed on 49 runs in 19 balls at a strike rate of 257.89, shouldering on seven fours and three sixes.

Yashasvi is the fifth leading run-getter of the IPL 2025 with 356 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 148.95, thanks to four half-centuries at the best score of 75 runs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old kid, has caught the eyes of the fans and the senior players with his incredible skill. Rajasthan will look to boost its confidence more by keeping him in the team.

That could mean that they may have to drop their captain and wicket-keeper batter, Sanju Samson, at number three if he gets fit for the contest against Gujarat.

Middle order- Sanju Samson (c & wk.)/Shubam Dubey, Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel

Samson’s potential inclusion will be a massive boost for the RR side. The right-handed batter will hold the batting line-up in the middle order, something which they needed in the last game.

Nitish Rana and Riyan Parag’s role will be vital in the batting if Samson misses out with injury. The stand-in captain of the side crunched 22 runs in just 10 balls during the previous contest. Rana, who looked in excellent touch during the game against CSK in Guwahati, struggled for his 28 runs in 22 balls.

Dhruv Jurel tried his best to get them to the target with a fine knock of 47 runs in 34 balls at a strike rate of 138.24, shouldering on three over boundaries and three boundaries. But questions will now start to arise over Shimron Hetmyer, who has done nothing so far this season.

RR will need to find a way to keep itself ahead in the chase. They killed RCB in the powerplay, but it took the home side just six balls to turn the tables.

Bowlers- Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Sandeep Sharma, Tushar Deshpande (Impact)

Jofra Archer seems to have found his groove back this season with figures of 1/33 in four overs, while Wanindu Hasaranga kept it tight for 1/30 in four overs at an economy rate of 7.50.
