The 2016 runners-up of IPL, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), will host the 2022 champions of the tournament, Gujarat Titans (GT), during the event’s fourteenth encounter in the 18th edition. The RCB vs. GT clash will take place on April 02 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru has made a rollicking start to the new edition with two successive victories to top the points table. Both of their victories have come at a significant margin.
Their incredible performance to breach the two spinning fortresses at the Eden Gardens and the MA Chidambaram Stadium would provide them with so much advantage going into the RCB vs GT encounter.
Bengaluru started the opening game with a seven-wicket victory as they chased down 177 runs in just 16.2 overs against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
After Josh Hazlewood’s excellent bowling figures of 2/22 in four overs, Krunal Pandya wreaked havoc with 3/29. Later, the 95-run opening stand in 8.3 overs between Virat Kohli and Phil Salt pulled the game in RCB’s favor.

Against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the previous encounter, Bengaluru posted 196 on the board in the first innings before claiming a victory by 50 runs.
Hazlewood’s 3/21 broke the home side’s back in the first six overs of the innings. Another victory in the RCB vs GT fixture will increase their chance of qualification to the playoffs.
For the Gujarat Titans, they bottled their opening game’s chase against the Punjab Kings as they fell short by 11 runs in the 243-run chase.
A few cold overs in the middle phase against Vijaykumar Vyshak and Marco Jansen stole the momentum as they couldn’t chase down the score.
But they made a solid comeback in the second game against the Mumbai Indians. Both openers, captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, brought the aggressive batting in the powerplay to post 196/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
In the second innings, Prasidh Krishna’s mouthwatering spell of 2/18 in four overs never allowed Mumbai Indians to chase down the total as the home side clinched a 36-run win.
IPL 2025: RCB vs GT Preview Match 14
For the RCB vs GT clash, Bengaluru will be confident with their bowling department. Bhuvneshwar Kumar looked lethal with the new ball along with Hazlewood as they picked up early wickets in the game. The batting unit will be eager to continue the same performance at the home venue, which suits high-scoring affairs.
In the case of the Gujarat Titans, they will want more firepower from the middle order. Apart from Sudharsan, Gill, and Jos Buttler, none of them have come to the party yet, and it would be important for the middle order to put up a show during the RCB vs GT contest.
